Mother’s Day is approaching fast! Like many others, I look forward to Mother’s Day, I look forward to the brunch, nice weather, and the chance to see my relatives. I know how lucky I am to have a wonderful woman and hero in my life.
I also do recognize that not everyone has this opportunity to celebrate their mother or celebrate being a mother. Mother’s Day can sometimes bring out many different emotions in people. This is a difficult day for many women - women who are struggling to become mothers, those who have lost their mothers, mothers who have lost children, mothers who are far away from their children geographically or emotionally, and anyone dealing with family conflict.
So this year, let me suggest something, on Mother’s Day, let’s not only celebrate our mothers and the mothers of the world but let's celebrate the women who have made you become the women you are today.
These women are everywhere! Maybe a teacher, an aunt, your grandmother, your stepmother, a neighbor, or a friend. We all have had someone in our lives who made an impact on your life, and we need to show them love and support. So, let’s celebrate those women.
The women who are struggling this Mother’s Day matter and they deserve care. If you are wondering what can you do to give back to other women this Mother's Day, here are a few ways you can support them:
See them: Make them aware that what they are going through is important. Tell them that you see them and that you care about that.
Listen to them: Listen to those who are struggling to become a mother or have lost a child or a mother. Be a listening ear without giving advice or passing judgment. Just listen, and really hear what they need to tell you.
Thank them: Acknowledge the way they nurture others. Show them some kindness, so that could be taking her out to lunch, baking her something, or just give them a call to express your gratitude for the investment that she makes in other people’s lives.
Support causes that provide help: This Mother’s Day, consider donating to a cause that promotes awareness or provides support services to women who have suffered a loss or are trying to become mothers.
Here is to celebrating women on Mother's Day and all year long!
Stay Beautiful Always,
